John G. Loughnane, a partner in the firm’s Business Department, and Ian D. Roffman, partner and chair of the Litigation Department, helped organize and plan the 2015 Bench and Bar Conference of the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts on October 22. John assisted in organizing the closing plenary session “Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me,” which featured a panel of federal judges and practitioners answering questions and providing both accurate and intentionally inaccurate answers. The session’s format was based on a popular PBS radio game show and the audience was given an opportunity to select the truthful answers. Judges on the panel included Timothy S. Hillman, Mark G. Mastroianni and F. Dennis Saylor IV, with Judge Kenneth P. Neiman serving as the panel host. Ian served on the conference steering committee, which was comprised of judges and representatives from various bar associations, including the Boston Bar Association.

The featured speakers were the Honorable Charlie Baker, Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts; the Honorable Maura Healey, Attorney General of Massachusetts; and Dean Erwin Chemerinsky, University of California School of Law (Irvine).
