Kenneth R. Berman, a partner in the firm’s Litigation Department, served as a moderator and presenter at the American Bar Association’s (ABA) 2014 Section of Litigation Annual CLE Conference in Scottsdale, AZ on April 11. The panel “Ethical Considerations When Clients and Their Counsel Must Say Goodbye” explored the professional and ethical obligations attendant to the termination of the attorney-client relationship, whether due to conflict communication breakdown, or disagreement in case handling/strategy or billing/payment issues. Panel members included in-house and outside counsel, as well as a malpractice insurance representative to highlight what not to do in this situation, and an ethics specialist.
