Nutter served as a sponsor of the 2012 Boston Bar Association (BBA) Beacon Award for Diversity & Inclusion. The third annual award ceremony took place at the Liberty Hotel in Boston on November 13 and brought together over 300 members of the Boston legal community to recognize exceptional leadership on diversity strategies that will have a lasting impact on the Greater Boston legal profession. The 2012 Beacon Award for Diversity & Inclusion was presented to the Gay and Lesbian Advocates and Defenders (GLAD) and the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office for their efforts to challenge DOMA, the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
