Nutter sponsors SBANE's Women's Business Committee NAVSEA SBIR Workshop
Print PDFNutter sponsored and hosted the Smaller Business Association of New England’s (SBANE) Navy Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Workshop program on December 16. The program focused on the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) SBIR. SBANE's Women's Business Committee hosted the NAVSEA SBIR Workshop to actively increase the participation of Women Owned Small Businesses (WOSB) in the Navy's SBIR program. The event focused on how your company can get a share of the $350 million of non-dilutive funds invested every year in seed funding by the Navy for the development of innovative ideas. In support of this event, the Navy sent representatives from the NAVSEA SBIR program offices.
Agenda topics included:
- An overview the Navy SBIR Program and specifically the NAVSEA (Naval Sea Systems Command) role in that program
- Walkthrough of each of the 35 NAVSEA Topics in the current Navy SBIR Solicitation
- An in-depth presentation of the Navy's Evaluation process
- 1-on-1 conversations with the NAVSEA Program SBIR representatives
NAVSEA plans to return to Boston, as a commitment to engaging more women in the SBIR Program, and debrief proposal evaluations with any of the attendees of this event who are either a WOSB or have woman Primary Investigator on their proposal after awards are announced.
