Nutter Named a Top 100 Best Adoption-Friendly Workplace by the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption
Print PDFThe Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption selected Nutter in its 2022 “Best Adoption-Friendly Workplaces” list, which recognizes organizations with the most robust adoption benefit programs. The recognition follows the Firm’s recent announcement of two new family-forming benefits and the expansion of its paid time off policy.
“Our support of employees growing their families through adoption reflects our commitment to fostering a welcoming and inclusive workplace,” said Liam O’Connell, Co-Managing Partner of Nutter. “Adoption can be a challenging journey, and we are proud to create an environment to support our employees and their families.”
Nutter provides financial assistance for adoption and fertility treatments, and compassionate leave is available for attorneys and business services staff who have experienced a miscarriage or failed surrogacy, adoption, or fertility treatment.
The Firm offers financial assistance for eligible adoption-related expenses, such as agency and placement fees; immigration, immunization, and translation fees; legal fees and court costs; and home studies. Nutter also provides financial support for eligible fertility-related expenses not covered by health insurance. Employees do not need to establish a medical diagnosis of “infertility” to seek the available financial assistance.
In addition to providing benefits, Nutter offers a wide array of programs to support caregiving, mental health, and wellness. These resources include, among other benefits, parenting seminars with outside speakers, academic tutoring support, and college admissions coaches.
The Dave Thomas Foundation partnered with RTI International, an independent, nonprofit research institute, to survey employers across the United States and score participants based on three criteria: financial reimbursement, paid leave, and the percentage of employees eligible for those benefits.
