Nutter announced today that Michael A. Walsh has joined the firm as a partner in the Litigation Department. He will practice in the firm’s Business Litigation and Intellectual Property Litigation groups. He joins the firm from Choate Hall & Stewart, where he was a litigation partner.

Walsh represents corporate clients on major litigation matters related to merger and acquisition agreements and the sale of company assets, portfolio investments, and securities transactions, as well as copyright, trademark, trade secret and patent litigation. He has represented Fortune 100 companies, leading U.S. insurance companies, universities, pharmaceutical companies, national publishers and a major record label. He has extensive trial experience in both federal and state court in Massachusetts, and in various other states throughout the Northeast.

“Our corporate clients will have access to Mike’s extensive experience in intellectual property law, from which they can benefit significantly,” said Michael Mooney, the firm’s managing partner. “His expertise and perspective will be a valuable resource, particularly at a time when the landscape is continuously changing.”

Walsh is a former member of the Board of Editors of The Trademark Reporter, a publication of the International Trademark Association. He was also an editor of The University of Pennsylvania Law Review.
