Mary K. Ryan, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Environmental and Land Use practice group, was named a 2016 Client Service All-Star MVP for the third year in a row by BTI Consulting, a leading market research firm in the legal industry. This prestigious honor recognizes attorneys who embody and deliver superior client service. The only way to become a BTI Client Service All-Star is to be singled out by corporate counsel for delivering outstanding client service. Exclusively identified through unprompted feedback in a survey of over 300 legal decision makers at the world’s leading companies, the All-Stars are selected based on criteria that include superior client focus, innovative thought leadership, outstanding results, and exceptional understanding of the client’s business.

Mary’s practice includes substantial trial and appellate cases in the state and federal courts, particularly in environmental litigation, as well as administrative hearings and proceedings. She has significant expertise in federal and state hazardous waste litigation, including CERCLA and Ch. 21E (federal and state Superfund) cases and related insurance coverage issues, as well as various land use issues. A frequent lecturer and writer on hazardous waste and environmental litigation issues, Mary was a faculty member of the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc.’s Annual Environmental and Land Use Conference from 2008 – 2014 and 2016, focusing on environmental permitting and land use litigation.
