David Rubin discusses decision by Goldman Sachs to issue a company-wide ban on email profanity
Print PDFDavid Rubin, a member of the firm’s Labor, Employment and Benefits practice group, appeared on NECN’s Business Day to discuss the decision by Goldman Sachs to issue a company-wide ban on email profanity. Like Goldman, David says many employers are enforcing the rule with sophisticated software that screens for offending and offensive words and warns employees against sending the email with the word included. "There's software that will simply filter out words, that won't allow email to be sent if they contain certain words,'' David said.
David said more and more employers are making clear, "We have certain expectations of how you will handle this equipment, what you say with this equipment. That kind of policy is what we see at law firms, at banks," and many other kinds of employers.
