Mike Scott Discusses Stop & Shop’s Bourne Bridge Rotary Development on CapeCod.com
Print PDFMichael E. Scott, chair of Nutter's Real Estate Department and a member of the firm’s Development, Land Use and Permitting practice group, was quoted on Stop & Shop’s request to the town of Bourne to develop a parcel of land near the Bourne Bridge Rotary in “Stop & Shop Looks for Help from Bourne Officials to Develop Site Near Rotary,” on CapeCod.com. Under its subsidiary Rotary Development LLC, Stop & Shop purchased the 152 acre parcel of land in 2013. Mike appeared before the town selectmen to facilitate the development of the property on behalf of the client and to support a request for the Cape Cod Commission to extend the property’s Development of Regional Impact Permit.
Mike notes that close coordination with the town is required to try to secure state and federal funds to help with infrastructure improvements. “The ultimate development will likely be one large user of perhaps a number of significant components mixed into a mixed use development,” Mike said. “While we continue to make efforts to facilitate the development of the property we would like to coordinate more closely with the town on marketing activities and leads for ultimate end users.” A letter of support for an extension to the Cape Cod Commission was unanimously voted on by the selectmen.
