Nutter Expands its Trusts and Estates Practice with Addition of William D. Kirchick

Nutter McClennen & Fish LLP announced today that William D. Kirchick has joined the firm as a partner in the Trusts and Estates Department. Nutter’s Trust and Estates practice is among the largest and most established in the region. The firm has been serving as legal counsel to high net worth individuals and families, foundations and closely-held businesses for more than a century.

“Bill makes a great addition to our team,” said Deborah J. Manus, managing partner. “He’s an experienced and widely respected lawyer and adds to the existing strength of our Trusts and Estates practice.”

Kirchick will continue to focus his deep expertise and practice on estates, trusts and business succession planning. He has extensive experience in the areas of estate planning and taxation, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax-planning, as well as probate and trust administration. His clients include owners of closely held businesses, corporate executives, self-employed professionals and families with inherited wealth.

Kirchick is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils; a member of the Executive Committee of the NAEPC Education Foundation; a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel; and a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Taxation and Probate Section. His professional honors include The Best Lawyers in America, 2008-2015; Massachusetts Super Lawyers, 2005-2014; Marquis Who’s Who in the World, America, American Law; and Estate Planner of the Year, Boston Estate Planning Council, 2004. Kirchick was the recipient of the Chai Award from the Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Greater Boston in 2007 for service to persons with disabilities.

He received his A.B., Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Michigan and his J.D., cum laude, from Boston College Law School.

Prior to joining Nutter, he was a partner in the estate planning group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and before that at Bingham McCutchen LLP.
