Nutter Represents Demers Food Group in $2.1 Million Financing Round

Boston – Nutter advised Demers Food Group Inc. in a round of financing led by Arbel Growth Partners LP, the private equity firm led by Carl Lee, the former president and CEO of Snyder’s Lance, Inc. Will Bernat, a partner and co-chair of Nutter’s Emerging Companies Group, led the deal team, which included Meghan Kelly, an associate in the firm’s Corporate and Transactions Department.

Based in Maine, Demers Food Group is the parent company of Cheating Gourmet and Brava Meat Co. Cheating Gourmet offers high-quality, unique, and premium frozen seafood. In addition to its specialty appetizer line, Cheating Gourmet will concentrate its growth in the value-added seafood space through its shrimp bowl business. The company’s products are sold in more than 2,500 stores with retailers such as Kroger, Ahold, Shoprite, Shaws, and Harris Teeter.
