Melissa Sampson McMorrow Elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce
Print PDFMelissa Sampson McMorrow, chair of Nutter’s Tax Department, co-chair of the Nonprofit and Social Impact practice group, and a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, was elected to the Board of Directors of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber’s Board of Directors is the region’s most influential group of business leaders, committed to the Chamber’s mission of making Greater Boston the best place for all businesses and all people to thrive. A longtime champion of advancing the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Board is comprised of 46% women and 30% people of color.
Melissa advises health care, higher education, religious, cultural, and other charitable and nonprofit organizations, and their affiliates, on a wide range of issues ranging from fundamental transactions to compliance matters. She frequently represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service, state revenue authorities, state charity officials, and other governmental authorities. Melissa also regularly advises donors in developing and optimizing their charitable giving goals. She has been named to The Best Lawyers in America ranking for many years and was selected as the “Non-Profit/Charities Law Lawyer of the Year” in Boston in 2022 by Best Lawyers. In 2019, Melissa was honored as a “Top Women of Law” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly and as a “Go To Lawyer” in the publication’s inaugural list in 2020.
Melissa continues her leadership outside of Nutter in various nonprofit and civic leadership roles. Currently, she serves on the Executive Committee of the Boston Bar Association’s Council and is a member of the Women’s Bar Foundation’s Emeritus Board.
