Nutter Partner Beth Mitchell Elected Secretary of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers
Print PDFBeth H. Mitchell, a partner in Nutter’s Real Estate Department and co-chair of the Commercial and Real Estate Finance Practice Group, has been elected Secretary of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), effective January 1.
ACREL is the preeminent association of approximately 1,000 commercial real estate lawyers, dedicated to advancing excellence in legal services, collegiality among professionals, and service to the broader real estate industry. ACREL’s distinguished lawyers are elected based on their outstanding legal ability, experience, and high standards of professional and ethical conduct in the practice of real estate law. The appointment to Secretary continues Mitchell’s longstanding leadership in ACREL, where she previously served on the Board of Governors and as Chair of its Programs Committee.
“I am honored to continue my work with such a distinguished group of professionals,” Mitchell said. “ACREL has always been a source of inspiration and collaboration in advancing excellence in real estate law, and I look forward to contributing to its success.”
A seasoned real estate attorney, Mitchell brings extensive experience in financing, acquisitions, leasing, joint ventures, and debt restructuring across various asset types, including office buildings, mixed-use developments, hotels, and industrial properties. Mitchell’s leadership extends beyond ACREL. She is a past President of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) and the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA), a division of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. She has made significant contributions to the real estate legal field as a writer, lecturer, and contributing author to notable legal publications.
Nutter shares a historical connection with ACREL through Fred Lane, a former partner of the firm who co-founded the organization and served as its first President. Mitchell’s election as Secretary reflects Nutter’s enduring tradition of leadership in real estate and its commitment to advancing the industry.
“Beth’s election to this role underscores her unwavering dedication to advancing the field of real estate law,” said Marianne Ajemian, chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department. “Her leadership, within ACREL, the greater Boston real estate industry and Nutter, has made an indelible impact. We are confident she’ll continue to have an incredibly positive impact within our firm and beyond.”
