Nutter is pleased to announce two new family-forming benefits and the expansion of its paid time off policy. The Firm will now provide financial assistance for adoption and fertility treatments, as well as compassionate leave will be available for attorneys and business services staff who have experienced a miscarriage or failed surrogacy, adoption, or fertility treatment.
“Nutter is committed to providing our attorneys and business services team with the support needed to flourish – not only professionally, but also personally. As part of that commitment, we regularly review our policies and benefits for opportunities to enhance our offerings,” said Liam O’Connell, Co-Managing Partner of Nutter. “We recognize that people form their families in many different ways, and Nutter makes it a priority to create and foster an inclusive environment for all as they care for themselves and their families.”
Nutter will offer financial assistance for eligible adoption-related expenses, such as agency and placement fees; immigration, immunization, and translation fees; legal fees and court costs; and home studies. The Firm also will provide financial support for eligible fertility-related expenses not covered by health insurance. Employees will not need to establish a medical diagnosis of “infertility” to seek the available financial assistance.
Nutter will provide up to 15 days of paid compassionate leave following a miscarriage and provide up to five days of paid leave following a failed surrogacy, adoption, or fertility treatment within a twelve-month period.
“Building a family may bring unexpected challenges, and the introduction of these new and enhanced policies is designed to help our employees and their loved ones throughout this process,” said Kristin Leary, Chief Talent and Equity Officer. “The addition of these family-forming benefits and the expansion of paid leave policies support our employees during difficult times.”
In addition to providing benefits, Nutter offers a wide array of programs to support caregiving, mental health, and wellness. These resources include, among other benefits, parenting seminars with outside speakers, academic tutoring support, and college admissions coaches.
