Nutter Elects New Partners in Its Litigation and Real Estate Departments
Print PDFNutter announced that Michael J. Leard and Valerie A. Moore have been elected partners, effective January 1, 2022.
Michael J. Leard is a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department. He advises individuals and companies of all sizes from across the country in the areas of commercial litigation; product liability, including mass tort pharmaceutical and medical device litigation; and regulatory compliance. Leard also has an active pro bono practice, in which he has represented unaccompanied minors in immigration proceedings, the widow of a veteran in an appeal of a death benefits claim, and a local restaurant impacted by COVID-19 in various contract disputes. Leard serves as a Fellow of the Massachusetts Bar Foundation, a charity dedicated to increasing access to justice for all Massachusetts residents, and has been actively involved in the Massachusetts Bar Association and Defense Research Institute’s Drug and Medical Device section. He is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch, Massachusetts Super Lawyers Rising Stars, and Boston Magazine’s inaugural list of “Top Lawyers.” Leard earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Tulane Law School and his B.A. from the College of the Holy Cross.
Valerie A. Moore is a partner in Nutter’s Real Estate Department. She focuses her practice on representing clients in a variety of real estate matters, including land use, affordable housing, construction, zoning, and environmental permitting and litigation. Moore received the 2020 Ascending Leader Award from the Environmental Business Council of New England for exceptional leadership and involvement in the energy and environmental industries. Active in the community, she serves on the board of directors of the Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House. In recognition of Moore’s pro bono work, the Political Asylum/Immigration Representation (PAIR) Project presented her with its 2021 Pro Bono Detention Award. Moore is also listed in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch and was named an “Up & Coming Lawyer” by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly in 2021. She earned her J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
