Hartman rejoins Nutter after four years at Federal Reserve Bank of Boston

Nutter announced the addition of Daniel W. Hartman, former counsel at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, as Of Counsel to its expanding Banking and Financial Services Group.

Hartman will provide legal counsel to banks and other financial institutions regarding mergers, new products and services, formal and informal regulatory enforcement actions and appeals, investigations and audits, and a wide range of other subject matters, including consumer protection and anti-money laundering regulations, and fintech activities and partnerships. His addition to Nutter’s Banking and Financial Services Group adds a unique perspective on the regulatory and business challenges faced by financial institutions during a period of increased regulatory scrutiny.

“Dan is a top-tier addition to Nutter’s broadly recognized Banking and Financial Services Group,” said Michael Scott, Nutter’s co-managing partner. “His recent experience with the Federal Reserve System and his prior experience managing complex regulatory matters will be of great value in advocating for our clients.”

“Dan’s deep understanding of the regulatory landscape, coupled with years of related litigation and regulatory enforcement experience, will complement the existing skill set of Nutter’s Banking and Financial Services Group,” said Michael Krebs, chair of Nutter’s Banking and Financial Services Group. “His expertise will greatly strengthen Nutter’s ability to effectively represent clients across the country, and we are thrilled to add his capabilities to our team.”

Hartman rejoins Nutter after spending four years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston. He is a member of the American Bar Association Banking Law Committee and the Financial Services & E-Commerce Practice Group of the Federalist Society. Additionally, he served a four-year term as a member of the Massachusetts Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights. Hartman earned his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.A. from Tufts University.

“I am excited to join Nutter’s Banking and Financial Services Group and look forward to working with clients across the country,” said Hartman. “I look forward to working closely and collaboratively with Nutter’s Banking and Financial Services Group to grow this dynamic practice and effectively advocate for our clients.”
