Writing for Corporate Board Member, Seth Berman Analyzes Board Member Cybersecurity Responsibility

Seth Berman, a partner and leader of Nutter’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, authored an article calling for board members to take responsibility for their companies’ cybersecurity in Corporate Board Member. In the article, “Data Breaches and the Board Room,” Seth discusses that cybersecurity is no longer solely a CISO, CIO, or an IT responsibility, and outline how board directors can begin to understand the legal implications of cyber risks as they relate to their company’s specific circumstances. He concludes that cybersecurity should not become a board issue for the first time after a breach occurs and should instead be a regular fixture on board meeting agendas.
