Seth Berman, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department and leader of the firm’s Privacy and Data Security practice group, authored an article for Banker & Tradesman that analyzed how several states, including Massachusetts, have augmented their data breach reporting requirements. In the article, “Changes to the Massachusetts Data Privacy Law: What it Means for You,” Seth concludes that the new update demonstrates that Massachusetts legislators intend to remain at the forefront of efforts to protect their constituents’ security, and that the new law may expand to more general regulations regarding consumer digital privacy.
