Writing for Law360, Ian Roffman and Mark Jensen Suggest New Guiding Principles for SEC's Enforcement Division

Ian Roffman, chair of Nutter’s Securities Enforcement and Litigation practice and a member of the firm's Executive Committee, and Mark Jensen, of counsel in Nutter’s Litigation Department and a member of the firm’s Securities Enforcement and Litigation practice group, co-wrote an article for Law360 titled, "SEC Enforcement Needs New Guiding Principles." In the piece, Mark and Ian state it's time for the SEC's Enforcement Division to consider a new set of principles to guide its enforcement activity. The two authors note, for today's world, "We need an SEC that aggressively punishes fraud and roots out bad actors, but also values regulation and collaboration where there are problems that can be fixed instead of punished."
