Overview

Gregory R. Bradford is a partner in Nutter's Real Estate Department and is a member of the Commercial and Real Estate Finance practice group and the Development, Land Use and Permitting practice group. His practice focuses on commercial transactions, and he also advises clients on various aspects of complex development projects. Outside of the firm, Gregory co-chairs the Real Estate Finance Committee of the Boston Bar Association’s Real Estate Section.

Gregory’s representative experience includes the following:

  • Representing regional and national banks and life insurance companies on construction and permanent financings across the United States.
  • Advising national developer on variety of title and permitting matters pertaining to long-term mixed-use redevelopment project in downtown Boston.
  • Representing institutional landlord on all aspects of the leasing of a Class A commercial office building in downtown Boston.
  • Drafting and negotiating complex easement agreements and title documents in connection with the redevelopment of a former industrial site outside of Boston.
  • Preparing permit applications and presenting before municipal planning boards and zoning boards of appeals.
  • Representing small businesses on all aspects of real estate needs, including refinancings, commercial lease negotiations, and construction matters.
  • Assisting with the representation of a municipality on various transactional and land use matters.

Gregory also maintains an active pro bono practice, including representing a Jesuit high school on the acquisition of a new campus and advising the school’s board of directors on various real estate matters related to their operations. Additionally, he serves on the Board of Trustee Associates of the Nativity School of Worcester, a tuition-free Jesuit middle school serving a low-income student population.

In addition to his client work, Gregory has co-authored comprehensive case law updates for the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Inc.’s Annual Environmental and Land Use Conference, and he is a member of the Real Estate Finance Association (REFA).

  • Palisade Corporation

    Represented Palisade Corporation, an Ithaca, New York-based provider of risk modeling and decision analysis software, in its recapitalization by Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis, MO.

  • The Boulevard

    Nutter advised the owner and developer of a downtown Boston property in the financing of a new 12-story residential and commercial condominium project, known as The Boulevard, in the negotiation of senior mortgage financing as well as a preferred equity investment by a national investment management firm. The project is designed to contain 31 market-rate units, five artists’ units, a retail unit, and a garage, and includes elements of a historic Bulfinch building.

  • Griffith Properties, LLC and DRA Advisors

    Nutter served as legal counsel to Griffith Properties, LLC and DRA Advisors in a joint venture in the acquisition, financing, and permitting for redevelopment of 580 Pleasant Street in Watertown, MA.

Before Nutter

During law school, Gregory served on the executive board of the Boston College Law Review. He also coordinated a comprehensive legal research project that was submitted to the presidential commission on the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and received a graduation award for his commitment to scholarship and the student body.
