REBA News publishes “MassDEP proposed revisions attempt to streamline permitting procedures” by Gregory Bradford and Matthew Snell
Print PDFGregory Bradford and Matthew Snell, members of the Land Use, Permitting and Development practice area, published “MassDEP proposed revisions attempt to streamline permitting procedures” in the May 2013 issue of REBA News. The article discusses the reform packages proposed by MassDEP in its attempt to streamline regulatory and permitting activities given its reduced capacities. Greg and Matt note the revisions that are of particular importance to commercial real estate professionals are those which restrict MassDEP’s jurisdiction over certain activities. One example is the Sewer System Extension & Connection Permit Program (314 CMR 7.00), which in some projects is the only state agency permit that triggers review under the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act.
