A Conversation With Lauren E. Jones, Secretary of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development
Print PDFNutter is pleased to host a breakfast with the Honorable Lauren E. Jones, Secretary of the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
Secretary Jones has more than 17 years of experience working in local and state government, nonprofits, and the private sector, with a particular focus on workforce development. The Secretary truly understands the labor marketplace today to make new opportunities and training available for workers, future workers, and employers. The competition for talent is keen and Secretary Jones is at the forefront promoting the benefits of Massachusetts for both employers and employees.
Secretary Jones will discuss the Healey/Driscoll Administration’s policies and initiatives to train and provide the type of workforce that will attract and retain companies in Massachusetts. How do we stop or reduce the migration of workers out of Massachusetts? What are the opportunities?
Prior to becoming Secretary, Jones served as Executive Vice President of the Massachusetts Business Roundtable, where she led the organization’s workforce development policy and strategy. Jones also created and led the Business Strategy Unit for Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s Office of Economic Development, supporting business attraction and employer engagement in the city of Boston. Prior to that, she held several roles in the Patrick-Murray Administration, including Communications Director for the Executive Office of Labor & Workforce Development, Policy & Communications Director for former Lieutenant Governor Tim Murray, and Senior Program Manager of the Economic Development Incentive Program in the Office of Business Development.
