David Ferrera and Valerie Moore Recognized as ‘Excellence in the Law’ Recipients by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly
Print PDFDavid Ferrera, a partner in Nutter’s Litigation Department and chair of the firm’s Product Liability practice group, and Valerie Moore, an associate in Nutter’s Real Estate Department, were named 2021 “Excellence in the Law” Honorees by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly. Valerie will be recognized in the “Up & Coming Lawyers” category and David in the “Excellence in Pro Bono” category. On May 13, David, Valerie, and the other recipients will be awarded at a virtual event.
Over the course of his more than 25-year legal career, David has made it a point to give back to the community through many pro bono projects and programs. In the publication’s feature, David said, “It is a real honor to be involved in the ecosystem of groups like Greater Boston Legal services and walk-in legal centers, helping to fund the people who do the day-to-day-work.”
As a land use and environment lawyer, Valerie said, “I am incredibly proud of the cases I have worked on where we have resolved a permit appeal that has allowed the construction of a project to go forward. With the tremendous housing challenges that are faced throughout the commonwealth, resolving several of those appeals in an expedited manner to enable the development to proceed and more housing to be constructed is my biggest achievement.”
Each year at the “Excellence in the Law” awards, Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly celebrates Up & Coming Lawyers and honorees for excellence in pro bono, legal journalism, ADR, marketing, firm administration, and paralegal work.
