Melissa Sampson McMorrow, chair of Nutter’s Tax Department and co-chair of the Nonprofit and Social Impact practice group, was a guest author in Curtis Strategy’s January 2025 newsletter. In the article, “Level Up Your Nonprofit Governance With Executive Contracts,” Melissa explains the benefits of an executive contract, pointing out that it will “save the nonprofit from ambiguity and instability down the road.” She outlines the basic elements of a contract, including term, compensation, conditions of employment, scope of responsibilities, termination provision, and restrictive covenants. The author would like to thank Emily Fox for her contributions to the article.
